A relationship with your chiropractor is usually very private and personal.
Because it is generally a one-on-one, hands on interaction, it is important to find a local chiropractor that you can trust.
Having a great first experience that leaves you motivated and eager to return for follow-up care with the chiropractor chosen is the goal.
Four tips that might be beneficial to locating the best chiropractor near you are:
1. Refer to social media platforms. Ask for recommendations from friends and followers. When people are happy with a product or service, they post about it and will often share their experiences, especially when prompted. Once given options, check out the social media page of the chiropractor or clinic that you have interest in. Many have reviews from customers and pictures taken in and around the office, as well as posts and comments. All are important in helping you determine if this chiropractor would be a good fit.
Social Media Tip: While everyone is quick to share their favorite chiropractor, not all that come recommended are the best for you. Ask more for more in-depth information from those that shared, if unable to locate a social media page.
2. Read reviews. Reading what other people have to say about a chiropractor can provide insight into how the chiropractor provides care, as well as how the office operates. Patient reviews typically reflect people’s experience within the office, office environment, and office staff friendliness. An office with a high number of reviews is usually more popular and in turn tells you that they likely receive a lot of referrals.
Reviews Tip: While good reviews are great to see, also read the bad reviews to see how the owner responds. Are they dismissive or do they still show compassion even in a situation where they likely believe the poor review was unfounded?
3. Check out the office website. It’s safe to say that a website speaks volumes on the professionalism of an office. A website that has pictures of the office and the staff will give you a great feeling about what you are about to ‘walk into.’ Reading a couple of the pages is also a great way to get an idea on pricing, adjusting techniques and the professionalism with which the website was written.
Website Assessment Tip: Most chiropractic offices (whether they designed their own website or had it done by a professional) will be responsible for providing the content of the website. So, in other words you can get a sense of the office philosophy about care and customer service when reading the website.
4. Talk with friends and loved ones that are like-minded. Family and trusted friends that think the same way you do are probably going to be a great referral source when seeking a local chiropractor. In our clinical experience, we find that our best customers and patients are those referred from friends and family members because they have a similar mindset about health.
Friend Recommendation Tip: Regardless of how close you may be or how similar your thoughts on health may be, not every referral may benefit you. Ask harder questions like “what do you like about them?”
Finding the best local chiropractor is no small task. Asking questions to friends and family and doing a little digging through social media and reviews on the reputation of the chiropractor or chiropractic office, you can reduce the chances your experience will be less than what you had hoped.
